i think im in trouble... ive had insurance with the same company for about a year and a half. now, i had my first missed payment (automatic withdrawal from my bank account) when i was in the hospital giving birth to my son a few months back. now, i have my maternity leave cheque deposited every 2 wkjs and sometimes it happens to land on the same night as when my insurance is withdrawn. in the past, its been ok and the cheque gets deposited before the insurance gets withdrawn. this week was not the case for the first time ever. now, im being told my insurance will be cancelled. now im just concerned. she said i may be able to get insurance from another company, but that chances are no one will do monthly payments. is this true? i mean i know insurance companies dont care why i didnt pay, but i find it very unfair. i cant afford a chunk of cash of $1500 or more. has anyone else been in this situation and had it work out that they could still do monthly installments and what company?|||What state do you live in? That makes a difference in the law.
By law an insurance company will send out a cancellation notice 7-10 days after the payment is due and then they have to give you 10 days to pay before your insurance cancels.
As for other companies not writing you, we have no way to see that you have not paid correctly in the past. If you live in Texas, I could help you with this because I am an insurance agent, if you are in another state there are plenty of insurance agents that would be able to help you in your area. The only company that may require you to pay in full is the SAME company you are using because they dont want you to cancel again. Hope I helped!|||typically insurance does not cancel the night the payment is supposed to come out . it is usually 3 or 4 days later but if they get the payment before it cancels the policy continues. Call the company directly rather than speaking with a local agent and see what they can do. Believe me, the insurance company makes a bundle off of your monthly payments rather than semi annual or yearly.|||You can try to consult it in some insurance company. try to seek some informatiion from them. You can visit a site like this http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com for your reference and additional details.|||i personally have never heard of being cancelled after 1 missed payment. hell they don't even repo a car in most cases till your 2 or 3 months behind. i have geico and as long as the payment is recieved by the cancelation date 15 to 20 days after due date i am fine
