How does one be a southern belle if you live in the north?

I want to be a southern belle! I love the way they are raised, with proper manners and good taste. I'm not asking how to be a "redneck", however, just how can i be a southern belle if i live in the north!





Serious answers, please!|||You can't be a southern belle if you live in the north. You can move south, but you wouldn't have the proud heritage that sets them apart from other women. You could imitate them by being a gracious host and learning impeccable manners. You must never utter profane language, perspire, or pass gas in public. A home economics class, if they still exist would help you in your quest to be like a southern belle, but the soft spoken, southern drawl sets them apart from other women of society.|||You can not be a southern belle cause you live up north. Even if you were to move to the south you would still not be able to be a southern belle, there is more to being a southern belle than just living in the south. A southern belle (derived from the French belle, 'beautiful') is an archetype for a young woman of the American Old South's upper class. So you see you can not be a southern belle. Even if you were to move here you still could not be one. The only thing that you could be is country. Redneck is generally a term for white people of Southern rural poor backgrounds 鈥?or more loosely, rural poor to working-class people of rural extraction.|||You cant because you are a yankee. Southern Belle and redneck are the same thing. I live in NW Florida but its more like southern alabama. Ive never met a woman from up north that can be classified as a southern belle. You have to have a southern accent, cook a mean steak potato's, collard greens, sweet potato's, and gravy, Be courteous to everyone, Treat your man like a king, Have manners and morals. If your from a big northern city or from around one forget it. First you need to live here.|||Well...try moving to the south so you can truly become southern and learn southern etiquette...otherwise you are a northern belle.
