its been 2 years now bank deposit in my account extra money but i have used that time is any one have knowldege if i want to return that money is that possible i can return in installments can they agree on it or they will ask to retuen in one go|||Your question depend on your BANK. There is no law on how you must repay them, only that you MUST repay them somehow! They are under zero obligation to accept payments.|||See if you can find out where that deposit came from. There was one such deposit on my account, and the bank were able to tell me the source. I contacted them, and found it was back money due to me from a previous employer. It was no mistake that the money was in my account, so I could happily spend it.
Find out where your money came from. It would have been better to have queried this 2 years ago - they may charge you a fee to check records so far back. I hope you find it was properly yours and you have been worrying for nothing. If it does turn out to be a mistake, well, that money was never yours to begin with, and the bank would prefer it in full. If you need to pay by instalments, you'll have to ask.|||If the error was made over 2 years ago, it's unlikely to be discovered by the bank. And since it was their error, you have no obligation to tell them. However, if your conscience bothers you, or if the error was for a substantial amount, like $100,000, start saving for a possible repayment plan. But it is still the bank's responsibility to verify the accuracy of their system, not yours.
